Inflammation/Allergy In vivo Models for Drug Discovery



Pharmacology Discovery Services has over 30 years of experience in developing, and conducting studies with, a diverse set of in vivo models for inflammatory diseases.  These models range from basic models of immune modulation, restoration, suppression and stimulation to specific models of inflammation-induced organ damage.  

Our ability to deliver multi-faceted outcome studies means that you will receive the data that is most appropriate for your drug discovery program.  All experimental models are tested in a dose-dependent manner with approved benchmark positive controls.  We routinely measure relevant biomarkers (e.g., cytokines), physiologic outcomes, like airway hyper responsiveness and swelling.  We also can provide more complex behavioral outcome measures such as scratching or mechanical allodynia or histopathology.    To meet the needs of your specific Inflammation/Allergy drug discovery project we also have the flexibility and expertise to develop custom in vivo models.

In Vivo Pharmacology Expertise

Each of our Technical Directors specializes in selected therapeutic areas so they may provide expert scientific support to our clients.  This involves consulting with clients to identify an appropriate model to meet their scientific objectives, designing studies and writing the custom protocols and statements of work (SOWs) to meet quality assurance guidelines.  They also work closely with our Study Directors to assure that SOWs are clear and that all methods and timelines are feasible.  Our laboratory staff also averages 15 years of experience conducting in vivo pharmacology studies.
